A very small painted study of the crested wood pigeons that have appeared in earlier paintings. The pair of purple grey birds with their distinctive pointed topknots stand looking at one another against a lime green grass background. They are a rather pleasant animal that stand about quite peaceably but, when approached, will take to wing with a most particular short rhythmic whistling whirr to their flight.
