Des Rolph - Ride the Wind |
Des Rolph's exhibition - Ride the Wind - is now on show at The Gallery Eumundi (1 Gridley Rd, Eumundi, Qld. T: 07 5442 8365) until 16 October, 2011. The official opening is Saturday 10 September (6pm). This exhibition explores a new series of ethereal work about the wind and how it moulds and shapes the landscape. |

Natalie Billing recording memories |
As part of the opening celebrations of the Kangaroo Point Multicultural Centre (Qld), Natalie Billing is creating an interactive artwork recording the memories of those who passed through the doors of Yungaba House. Meetings to gather and record memories will be held at Yungaba House at 11am on Wednesdays in September (14, 21, 28). |

Di West in Blake Prize finals |
Di West is honoured to have been selected as a Finalist in The Blake Prize 2011 for her work - Tsunami Sadness. Di has entered this prestigious art prize four times and last year was selected for The Director’s Cut.
This exhibition opens 15 September to 16 October at the NAS Gallery (Forbes Street, Darlinghurst, NSW) with the winner announced on 15 September. |

Three artists' views of their city |
Elisabeth Lawrence, Mel McRae and Kylie Farrelly’s latest urban landscapes are on now in a group show at London Offices (30 Florence St, Teneriffe, Qld) and runs to 17 September.
Elisabeth has also been invited to participate in the Tattersall exhibition - Country to the Coast - which runs 12 to 23 September at Waterfront Place (Brisbane).
Mel McRae has a current exhibition displaying iconic Gold Coast landscapes at Worrell's Office (Robina).

Dave Groom tutoring at Ancient Arts Festival |
The Ancient Arts festival in Southeast Queensland which runs 21 to 24 September will feature traditional art practices like blacksmithing and sandstone carving.
Dave Groom will also be running a three day drawing workshop, using charcoal and pastels, to explore the dramatic landscape of Lost World Valley on the edge of Lamington National Park.
The Festival features an open day on 24 September with market stalls as well as the chance to see what has been created in the workshops. |

Nick Olsen set for UK residency |
Nick Olsen is off to London this month to begin his Royal Overseas League Residency which includes a four week scholarship to work intensively at the Patrick Allan Fraser Foundation in Scotland. The work from this period will be exhibited at the annual ROSL exhibition in 2012. Nick's recent paintings will also be exhibited at the London Affordable Art Fair with Rebecca Hossack Gallery. |
