Ted Barraclough opens his third solo exhibition of sculpture in as many years at Doggett Street Studio, Brisbane on Friday 13 July at 6pm. Birds III presents new work in Barraclough's much loved series of carved and painted Australian birds.
Barraclough will also be exhibiting at Artspace Mackay later in the year. The exhibition will be accompanied by a new book published by artHIVES.
In his essay for the book Glenn Barkley (curator, MCA, Australia) writes "I feel that although there may be those artists whose feather counts might be more correct, and whose realism is more exact, this has little to do with what ‘art’ might be. And the lack of emphasis on craft runs counter to a hyper over-skilling and this is what makes Barraclough’s birds so good".
