Celebrates an afternoon at a leash-free dog beach on Port Phillip Bay in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton. Over 100 dogs of all sorts and their owners (also of all sorts) are depicted in the painting, all enjoying a pleasant Sunday afternoon at the beach, corralled on the lee-side of the Royal Brighton Yacht Club marina and with a 360° view of the bay’s horizon, including the You Yangs, Westgate Bridge and city skyline, and the mansions of Brighton lining the shore. The composition is very much in the round and a “bird’s eye” view. It could be rotated and viewed 90° or 180°.
