‘Spring, Surrey Gardens’ was commenced on site in the public gardens in Surrey Hills, Melbourne, and completed in the studio where washes were applied with brush to the watercolour pencil drawing and further linework added. The work is part of an ongoing exploration of parks and gardens as symbolic safe havens and attempts to reclaim or reconstruct a vestige or imagining of Eden.
