A very small painted study of the crested wood pigeons that also appear in ‘Springtime in Burwood’ and in the ‘Box Hill Gardens’ paintings. Crested pigeons are a rather pleasant animal that stand about quite peaceably but, when approached, will take to wing with a most particular short rhythmic whistling whirr to their flight.
