Paintings by Annie Jamieson, "Secret Places"
These paintings grew out of a mutual admiration and deep respect for the unique habitat of Coochiemudlo Island. So close and yet far away from the mainland, this small island in Moreton Bay provides sanctuary for a diversity of bird and marine life supported by an abundance of native bush.
My works which I have called "Secret Places" are not botanical illustrations, rather they are my impression of what lies beneath the natural existance and progression through the life of an organism. Essentially there is an element of sex, birth and death active as I explore and pursue the essence of these botanical forms.
thankyou Annie Jamieson
